Robust support, traditional comfort. The orthopedic choice for side sleepers and broad shoulders.

If you suffer from neck pain and find standard pillows too soft or inconsistent, our Standard Cervical Pillow is the answer. Handcrafted in Italy using 100% Native Abruzzese Sheep Wool, this pillow combines the ergonomic "double wave" shape with a substantial filling density. It is designed to fill the gap between your head and mattress firmly, keeping your spine perfectly aligned.

Why choose Abruzzese Wool for a Cervical Pillow?

While soft foams collapse under weight, our local Abruzzese wool is known for its resilience and rustic strength.

  • Structural Support: This wool doesn't just "feel nice"; it actively holds your neck. The fiber structure is robust, ensuring the cervical wave maintains its shape throughout the night.

  • Therapeutic Warmth: Wool generates a "dry heat" that penetrates the neck muscles, helping to dissolve tension and stiffness accumulated during the day.

  • Active Breathability: It absorbs sweat instantly. No more waking up with a damp neck—just a dry, healthy sleep environment.

Who is this "Standard/High" version for?

  • Side Sleepers: The height of approximately 15 cm (on the higher lobe) is ideal for filling the space between the ear and the mattress, preventing the head from tilting downwards.

  • Broad Shoulders: If you have a medium-to-robust build, you need a pillow that doesn't flatten. This model offers the necessary volume to support your frame.

  • Lovers of Firm Support: If you dislike sinking too deep into a pillow, the density of the Abruzzese wool provides a reassuring, grounded feel.

Technical Specifications (100% Made in Italy)

  • Shape: Double Wave / Ergonomic Cervical.

  • Dimensions: 70 cm (L) × 37 cm (W) × ~15 cm (H - High side).

  • Filling: ~1.4 kg of Pure Abruzzese Sheep Wool (Carded).

  • Cover: 100% Natural Cotton (High density).

  • Customization: Too high? We also make a "Low" version (11 cm). If you need something in between, contact us for a custom adjustment.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: The "Settling" Period You will receive a pillow that looks very high and firm. This is intentional. Freshly carded wool contains air and volume. It requires a breaking-in period of about 15 days. Under use, the wool will naturally compact and settle, losing the initial excess height to reach its perfect ergonomic stability.

Care and Maintenance

  • Air it out: Expose the pillow to fresh air and indirect sunlight to sanitize the fibers naturally.

  • Refurbishing: Valle di Lana offers a unique service to wash and recard the wool, restoring the pillow's loft after years of use.

  • Cleaning: Do not machine wash. Use professional dry cleaning only.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between this and the "Low" version? This Standard Version is higher (~15 cm) and contains more wool. It is designed for side sleepers or people with larger frames. The Low Version (~11 cm) is better for back sleepers or petite frames.

Is it hard? It is firm but elastic. Abruzzese wool is more supportive than down or polyester. It feels solid, providing a stable base for the neck, which is essential for orthopedic relief.

Does it help with snoring? By keeping the airways aligned and preventing the head from falling too far back or forward, a cervical pillow can help reduce positional snoring.
